Ettan Launched in AMERICA Today!

Ettan Snus (Ettan Snuff) is my favourite all time snus.  It has not been available in America before other than by mail order.   Swedish Match announced it will be available in 3 locations starting today 2nd of May.

It has been rebranded for America and is called Ettan Snuff and Ettan Pouches.

It will be available at :

Pittsburgh, PA:

• Select GetGo locations
• Select CoGo’s locations

Boise, ID:

• Select Big Smoke locations
• Select Jackson’s locations

Portland, OR:

• Select Plaid Pantry Locations

So if you live in these areas look out for these chillers and try some.

For those of you that don’t know Ettan has been around since 1822.  I love this snus so much because of its simplicity.   it is very mild in taste, pure tobacco,  salty and a note of bitter dark chocolate in the background.     The white portion snus seems a little peppery in comparison to the loose.  It has a reasonably good nicotine hit, 8mg of nicotine per gram.

I think lovers of Copenhagen Snuff who want to try another old recipe would enjoy this.  The only thing Copenhagen Snuff users need to be aware of is that Swedish Snuff is not pinched like american snuff you do take a pinch but in a different way.  Nor is it used on the bottom lip.  It does not need you to spit.  So if you are new to this check out the many videos on youtube about loose snus.  Users of dip pouches will have no trouble with Ettan Pouches.

Pretty cool stuff right:-) It’s basically just one huge block of snus wrapped in some form of paper (pretty special paper I would guess), so, one needs to have like an empty snus can or similar for daily use, unless one wants to drag this huge lump around:-)

This is hand made by a 80-year old lady at the museum and I know she got quite the shock when Swedish Match asked for a few 100 of these to be made. They ended up getting 40 for online sale in the end;-) We’re getting 10 of these (I’m guessing the other main online retailers also get 10 each or something – BuySnus, SwedishSnus and SnusWorldWide).

We’ve decided to give 5 of these babies out to anyone who “Likes” our Facebook account (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Molnda…m/286596111050). Basically we’ll just do a lottery draw amongst everyone there.

 

The museum behind the production of this handmade snus is the Tobaks and Tändsticks Museum.

Ettan Lös Review and Footballs

March is Ettan Month, and to celebrate that Swedish Match released promotional Ettan Footballs.  I reviewed Ettan Lös in this video and show off the new Ettan Footballs. Ettan is one of the oldest brands of Snus in the world. The flavour is really salty, snokey and a slight chocolate taste (which I say in my video is weird. weird in that a newcomer to this snus would not expect that considering the ingredients are just tobacco, salt and water.
